About Us

The Treasure Coast chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) represents approximately 50 non-profit organizations in Martin and St Lucie County, FL. The chapter was chartered in October 1994 as a spin-off of the Palm Beach Chapter to serve Martin, St Lucie and Indian River Counties (Treasure Coast). Growth among Indian River members led to sponsoring those members to charter the Indian River chapter in January 2000. We then assisted in the launch and co-sponsorship of the Space Coast Chapter in 2008 and use this sister chapter as the NPD Judges Panel.

Our vision is to always be the ‘go to’ organization for non-profit organizations and donors in the area we serve. Our mission is to strengthen philanthropy in Martin and St Lucie County, FL. through professional development and ethical fundraising practices.

We are a community of people that are proud to abide by the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice. It is through this strong dedication to ethical fundraising that the profession can ensure public trust and confidence in the organizations that donors support.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) represents more than 30,000 members in over 230 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs.

Founded in 1960, the Association fosters development and growth of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the fundraising profession.
