Environmental leader spearheads local effort to defeat Amendment 4.

(Orlando, FL - April 20, 2010) Citizens for Lower Taxes and a Stronger Economy (the "Vote No on 4" campaign) today continued its rollout of local leadership by announcing the campaign's Treasure Coast Chairman, Toby Overdorf. Mr. Overdorf is the founder of Crossroads Environmental Consultants, Inc., is an environmental and civic leader, and is the current Florida Senate appointee to the Small Business Regulatory Advisory Board. Today's announcement comes one week after the campaign released the names of its Miami-Dade Co-Chairs.

"As an environmental leader and small business owner, Toby Overdorf brings a fresh perspective to the Amendment 4 debate,” said the campaign's executive director, Ryan Houck. "The campaign team in the Treasure Coast is already up and running, well-prepared to take our message to the voters.”

Toby Overdorf (click here for bio) is President of the Treasure Coast Wildlife Foundation, the Chairman of the National STE Foundation, Board member of the Rivers Coalition, as well as the President and founder of Crossroads Environmental Consultants, Inc. “Earth Day serves as a timely reminder of the importance of preserving Florida’s natural resources,” stated Overdorf. “In order to protect Florida’s environment, preservation initiatives, and quality of life, we must defeat Amendment 4, which will encourage sprawling patterns of development that limit green space.”

Citizens for Lower Taxes and a Stronger Economy (the "Vote No on 4" campaign) is an umbrella organization that leads opposition to Amendment 4. The campaign's statewide Board of Directors includes former National League of Cities President, Clarence Anthony, Florida Chamber of Commerce President, Mark Wilson, and Florida AFL-CIO Executive Committee member, Frank Ortis. To date, more than 250 organizations throughout Florida have opposed Amendment 4; more join the fight every day.
