Citizens for Lower Taxes and a Stronger Economy, Inc.

Dear Fellow Floridian:

At the time I write this letter, Florida Hometown Democracy has submitted 689,819 valid petitions. This number accounts for all revoked signatures and places Hometown Democracy ahead of the total signature threshold.

However, Florida Hometown Democracy must not only cross the total signature threshold (676,811), they must also collect enough petitions in thirteen (13) of Florida's twenty-five (25) congressional districts. So far, they have crossed the finish line in twelve (12) districts.

That said, they are very close in several congressional districts and will likely cross this final threshold any day.

Since 2007, Floridians for Smarter Growth (FSG) has worked with hundreds of volunteers to alert voters to the dangerous impacts of the so-called "Hometown Democracy" amendment. The current economic climate only further demonstrates the need to defeat this anti-jobs proposal.
