CHARLIE WELLS TO LEAD MANATEE AMMENDMENT BATTLE

(ORLANDO, FL – October 23, 2007) Floridians for Smarter Growth (FSG) today announced Former Manatee County Sheriff Charlie Wells will lead local efforts against the so-called "Hometown Democracy" amendment as the group’s General Chairperson for Manatee County. PHILLIP HOWELL TO LEAD PENSACOLA AMENDMENT FIGHT

(ORLANDO, FL - October 11, 2007) Pensacola attorney Phillip Howell has joined the fight against the so-called Hometown Democracy amendment in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, according to Floridians for Smarter Growth (FSG). As the group’s new General Chairperson for the Pensacola area, Mr. Howell will lead the local campaign to defeat the proposed constitutional amendment.
